Introducing a new logo for 2022

After 13 years in business, we felt the time was right for a website redesign. Our old site was created using a theme that felt, at the time, modern and well suited for photographers. Thankfully, we’ve grown with the times and we felt our website should reflect our progression.

While working through our redesign, we also felt it was time to refresh our logo. This small change better reflects our philosophy.

Ensō

In Zen Buddhism, ensō is a sacred symbol often referred to as “The Circle of Enlightenment.” It is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. Some artists draw ensō as an open circle, while others complete the circle.

At first, ensō may appear as a roughly drawn circle, but it symbolizes many things: strength, elegance, the universe, our true and innermost self, beauty in imperfection, and the oneness of all things in life. It also symbolizes the perfect meditative state or enlightenment.

Ensō is a visual expression of the Heart Sutra. Form is emptiness and emptiness is form—a circle in which everything is contained within, or, equally excluded by its boundaries.”

Ensō & Photography

What we’ve noticed time and time again is that the best portraits of each of our clients happen when they show us a glimpse of their innermost selves.  That moment when their mind forgets to hold onto their insecurities and just let themselves Be.

We see the beauty in the features that make each person unique rather than a carbon copy of someone seen in the media. We want to celebrate the strength and elegance it takes to accept those imperfections and still enjoy life.
