In 2021, I made a life-changing decision to leave behind a 30-year career in Information Technology, a choice I never anticipated. This shift was driven by the diagnosis of my beloved Leisah Emily Burrow with stage 4 breast cancer. Determined to support her through every step of her battle, I became her primary caregiver. During these challenging times, I bought a camera and found solace and inspiration in the art of photography.

With Leisah’s unwavering support, I immersed myself in learning the intricacies of composition, lighting, and storytelling through photography. Her belief in my talent and guidance significantly improved my photography skills.

Tragically, despite our best efforts, Leisah passed away on February 2nd, 2023, leaving a profound void in my life. In the midst of my grief, I found comfort in the memories we had created together, captured in photographs. Each click of the shutter felt like she was by my side, guiding me in my new endeavor.

Inspired by her memory, I decided to leave my IT profession behind and pursue a full-time career as a photographer. I transformed our shared love for photography into a lasting tribute to our relationship. The emotional depth I experienced during our battle against cancer fueled my venture into professional photography. Each photograph I capture holds a piece of our shared story and serves as a reminder of the love, strength, and resilience we embodied together. I am committed to using my newfound passion and talent to capture fleeting moments and create timeless memories for others.

I am eternally grateful to Leisah for opening my eyes to the profound beauty of photography, and I honor her memory by pursuing this new chapter in my life with unwavering dedication. I will always remember her last words:

“Of all the pictures that you’ve posted, I love your portraits the most because you are always good with people.”
